Pulmonary Specialists of Michigan has been serving the community for over 25 years. Providing the best care in ICU/Critical Care Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Diagnosing and Treating Sleep disorders, our physicians are Board-Certified in Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Sleep Medicine.
Our physicians are affiliated with many local hospitals. Our physicians are also teachers, and teach physicians training to be specialists in Internal Medicine and Family Practice, and also teach medical students in training to be the next generation of physicians.
Specialities
Pulmonary Function Testing
Pulmonary function tests measure how well the lungs are moving air in and out. They also measure how well the lungs are moving oxygen to the blood.
Pulmonary Rehab
Most people who complete a pulmonary rehab course feel better at the end. They are able to perform more activity without becoming short of breath, and they report their overall quality of life is better.
COPD
Emphysema & COPD Emphysema is a chronic (long-term) lung disease, usually caused by smoking. Emphysema is the main form of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Lung Cancer Diagnosis
Some lung cancers produce abnormally high blood levels of certain hormones or substances such as calcium. If a person shows such evidence and no other cause is apparent, a doctor should consider lung cancer.
Sleep Disorders Evaluation
If you have symptoms of sleep apnea, narcolepsy, insomnia, or shift-work disorder your doctor may ask you to have a sleep apnea test, called a polysomnogram. This may be done in a sleep disorder center or even at home.
